Capital Area Food Banks of Texas
We were recounting how fortunate we are to have weathered the economic storms when our thoughts turned to those who aren't so lucky. So we started brainstorming on how we could assume our share of the responsibility for our local community.
That discussion led us to the Capital Area Food Bank, which, through direct donations and help from countless volunteers, provides meals for more than 300,000 Central Texans each year. When they informed us a mere $5 donation buys $25 worth of food we couldn't wait to get involved.
Today, $25 of every completed job goes directly to the Capital Area Food Bank. That should amount to somewhere in the neighborhood of $20,000 per year at the current pace.
